Don't ruin the ending or anything.. but your saying inheritance is the final final book?

It's basically sort of a science/maths fiction ( i don't mean sci-fi).
Not sure how to explain it, but the main character is a square, which live
in a 2d world, comes across a 1D world and is introduced to the 3D world
by a sphere....

Edit: and attempts to explain the third dimension to the citizen of
the 2D world.

Kinda hard to explain, but that's the jist of it.

We watched that movie in 8th grade! More like a film... But I've heard of it... Its decent, isn't it a film?

Now that I think about it, it's kind of like the book Brave New World, where the triangles are the lowest class, and the squares are ranked higher, and the more sides a shape has the more reputable and superior they are. All ruled by one shape (Hexagon or Octagon)... I dunno I just thought of the delta's, gamma's, beta's, etc.

If this is the film you are talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C8oiwnNlyE4

then yh.
It is a movie based on the book.

I've never met an Alastair Reynolds book I didn't like. His Revelation Space series is comprised of several short stories, novellas, and six novels. There are two storylines in the novels which can be read as standalones; Chasm City and its prequel The Prefect are my two favorite books ever. Revelation Space, Redemption Ark, and Absolution Gap are the others. Century Rain, Pushing Ice, and House of Suns were all also suitably epic.

The ending wasn't too bad, apart from the general feeling that it was a bit rushed.

rushed is the word EVERYONE uses. and thats what makes it bad. there was no reason she needed to rush it like that.
